Gatorball academy is a
mentoring youth program
that inspires youth with the
values of Dr. James Naismith:
stood for and that’s: "Strong
in Body - Clear in Mind - And
Lofty in Ideals." With
basketball being the game of
choice in communities all
over the world. The modified
game of 3on 3 basketball has
becomes a tremendous
teaching tool used to teach
social and athletic values.
Starting in 2010, the Nancy Lieberman Foundation partnered with the WorldVentures Foundation to build high-quality basketball courts for children living in underprivileged communities across the country. The goal of this program is to keep children off the streets and to provide them with a safe and competitive environment where they can develop skills such as teamwork and good sportsmanship.
Ten famous people have been named honorary Globetrotters: Bob Hope, Nelson Mandela, Henry Kissinger, Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Jesse Jackson, Whoopi Goldberg, Pope John Paul II, Pope Francis, Robin Roberts and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
